CHAPTER: THE OATH WOULD BE CONSIDERED ON THE BASIS OF THE INTENTION OF ONE WHO TAKES AN OATH  

No. 4064

Abu Haraira reported Allaah's Messenger (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) as saying: Your oath should be about something regarding which your companion will believe you. 'Amr said: By which your companion will believe you.

No. 4065

Abu Huraira reported Allaah's Messenger (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) as saying: An oath is to be interpreted according to the intention of the one who takes it.
